History
The Farris Foundation, Inc., was founded by Tim and Jeri Farris.  It was the desire of Mr. and Mrs. Farris to start a “seed ministry” to help others better themselves and to be a catalyst in helping launch struggling ministries.

Mr. Farris retired in 1995 after 27 years in the computer industry, where he was responsible for starting two successful companies in Georgia and Florida.  An endowment to provide working funds for the Foundation was made possible by Mr. Farris’s donating shares of stock he owned from his last company.

In their search for a President, Mr. and Mrs. Farris turned to a long-time friend, Otis Jones.  Jones and his wife, Sandra, have been friends of the Farrises since the early '80s.

The Foundation was legally incorporated on December 1, 1995, with offices in Lawrenceville, Georgia.  It is a 501(c)3 nonprofit private operating foundation managed by its President and a Board of Directors.

Proposals and grant requests are reviewed on a quarterly basis by a committee of the Board and action taken as appropriate.
