Children
Our
ministry to children is achieved in several ways. We assisted a community
in opening a temporary home for children who have been removed from
their own homes; we support a program that matches needs with local
donated items; we participate in a ministry that provides support
for children in foster care; we partner with a Christian school and
home for children needing special nurture and a home for boys and
girls in need of a stronger family support system. |
Scholarships
The Foundation
awards four-year scholarships to deserving
students. Our goal is to make a college education possible for the student
who wants to attend college but may not have the financial resources to
do so. This program is currently operational only in selected high schools
across the country.
Missions/Missionaries
There
are several areas of commitment in this category. Not only does the Foundation
support many churches and local and foreign missionaries, but we also
partner with specific ministries. Examples are:
- A Christian ministry
to feed, clothe and educate young men and women in Honduras
- The Salvation
Army, whose outreach efforts are well known throughout the world
- A home for children
in Jamaica where they are housed and educated under the direction of
full-time missionaries.
Adults
The Foundation
provides strategic support to several not-for-profit ministries. This
includes a home for unwed mothers that prepares them for motherhood, finds
adoptive parents, and leads many young girls to Christ.
We assist a rural
school system to provide basic education skills to mothers and their preschool
children through the Even-Start program. We also support a home for single
women who desire to improve their lives without becoming a burden on society.
Senior
Adults
The Foundation
has a ministry to senior adults that we are developing. We have provided
assistance to a rural community to construct a chapel in a senior center
that can be used for services as needed.
Physically
& Mentally Challenged
The Foundation
supports ministries that assist individuals with disabilities to achieve
their highest level of social, vocational, and economic independence.
Housing
In 1996, the
Foundation signed a National Partnership Agreement with Habitat for Humanity
International of Americus, Georgia, to build simple, decent, affordable
housing around the world. We have sponsored
more than 50 houses to date in Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Texas, Kentucky,
North Carolina, the Philippines and Korea.
